Chamonix village is located at the base of the wonderful Mt Blanc in France and is generally regarded as the Alpine climbing and extreme skiing epi centre of the world. Chamonix town has long been known as a true domain for extreme sports during both summer and winter. Chamonix Mont Blanc hosted the first Winter games in the early 1920s – however it is also a domain of outstanding natural beauty providing a lot to the snowboarder and tourist.

However unlike a lot of new snowboarding towns the resort of Chamonix is not a purpose built skiing resort and has been mostly saved from the concrete resorts which scars so much of the French resorts. It is blessed with not only an internationally renowned skiing area on the other hand a cosmopolitan and thriving center.

Chamonix town is big enough to guarantee that there is plenty enough for the vacationer to do as well as a good range of Chamonix accommodation. For whatever type of holiday there is something to suit everyone. There’s a big swimming area, cross country skiing, casino and weekly market; and loads of designer boutiques, bars and night clibs, Chamonix privides a mix of activities, town charm and aprs ski, that not many ski areas can equal.
