Go For Gold Not Silver

November 29th, 2009

Growing up, I was always told that I should not accept second best in life. We only have one shot at life, as far as we know at present, therefore you need to make the most of it. This article talks about this subject.

At the age of around twelve, I was bought a five foot snooker table for my birthday. This was something I had wanted for quite a long time and I have to say, it is probably the best present I was ever bought and I quickly became hooked on playing the game.

I would play snooker, either with friends or on my own, I did not care. My dream was to be the next Steve Davis, however I was aware that the chances of this happening were extremely slight.

Around six months later, I joined a local snooker hall with three of my friends, this is where we could play on full size tables. The sheer size of the tables came as quite a shock and at the start it was difficult to pot even what should have been the simple shots. The table was twelve foot by six foot which was more than twice the size of my table at home.

We started to play every week. We were very impressed with the club and found out that it offered free coaching for children under the age of sixteen on a Saturday morning. The coach who was called Glen and who was aged around thirty at the time asked us if we would like to attend. He was a larger than life character and a very good snooker player. We all decided to turn up on the next Saturday, it was free after all. There were snooker tournaments every month as well as coaching and they gave us free drinks and toast.

The first aim of all of the people who played on the Saturday morning was to score a twenty break as not one of us had ever had a twenty break. I was extremely determined that it would be me and listened carefully to what I was being taught and tried hard to implement it into my game.

My progress was quite rapid and to my amazement I was the first person to score that elusive twenty break. People around the snooker table I was playing on started to applaud and I was walking around with a beaming smile on my face. I felt on top of the world.

Glen who was on the other side of the room wondered over to find out what all of the noise was about. I thought he would be so proud of me and happy at my achievement, however he stated that if I could score twenty, I could score thirty. He told me to stop messing about and smiling, and to re-concentrate on the job in hand.

I had been brought straight back down to earth and was a bit gutted to say the least. This lesson was a very good one for me to learn at such an early age and I eventually went on to have breaks of over one hundred.

Seasonal Selling On Ebay.

November 10th, 2009

When you sell on eBay, it’s important to know how to take advantage of the kinds of markets you encounter in the different seasons. As a rule, the summer months are slow and the winter period is fast, but there’s more to it than that.

It Depends What You’re Selling.

Your sales won’t necessarily be slower in the summer than in winter – they might just be different. If you’re selling sports equipment, for example, you’ll probably find that surfing gear sells in summer while skiing gear sells in winter. You should make sure you are aware of any seasonal variations there will be in your particular market, and plan in advance to take advantage of them.

Selling in Peak Season.

The holiday season is eBay’s peak, and the best time to be selling on eBay – the December rush is relatively short, but if you play it right then you could make half your year’s profit over those few days.

In the holidays, people are looking for presents, and eBay run more advertising than usual targeted towards buyers, not sellers. Target your auctions more towards new users than experienced ones, writing easy-to-understand descriptions. If you have any items that are in demand, try listing some at auction and some with high But it Now prices, to see what works best.

The chances are you’ll be surprised when the Buy it Now auctions go almost instantly and the auctions rack up bids like nobody’s business. It is important to remember, however, that most of these buyers will only buy from you once.

Selling Off-peak.

For the rest of the year, the market is far slower. Don’t worry though – you can still make money. It’s a little like being a stockbroker: you can make money whether the market is good or bad, if you know what you’re doing.

Remember that your target market is a little more ‘expert’: you’re mostly selling to people who know what they’re buying, and know what they want to pay. Cater to this by providing a service suitable for these customers. Show that you know what you’re selling and sell things consistently and you’ll have people coming back again and again.

Here’s one extra tip that you might try. If you know of items that have a consistent value, it might be worth buying up as many as you can cheaply in the summer, storing them for half a year, and selling them during the winter rush. If you’re willing to give over a little space for storage, you can make a lot of profit for little effort. After all, you don’t even have to take the items out of the packaging the last seller put them in.

If you’ve tried searching for a few more eBay tips using the big search engines like Google and Yahoo, then you might have come across someone offering to sell you all the secrets of eBay success for a ‘low, low price’. In the next email, I’ll let you in on their little secrets for free.

Choosing Sunglasses That Enhance Your Style And Protect Your Eyes

November 3rd, 2009

Whether you pick them up at a discount retailer or from a designer boutique, sunglasses are definitely must-have accessories regardless of the season. However, far from being just a fashion accessory, sunglasses are multipurpose tools that can protect your eyes from harmful UV rays and provide a degree of shade on a sunny day, improving visibility and lessening your chance of being temporarily blinded by sunlight (particularly important while driving).

As wonderful as sunglasses are, all sunglasses are not of the same quality and it is important to take care when shopping for a pair. The most important consideration when purchasing sunglasses is to find a pair that provides full protection from ultra violet (both UVA and UVB) rays, which are generated from the sun even on cloudy days. While experts disagree about possible negative effects UVA rays may have on the eye, it is known that UVB rays can cause a number of eye conditions including permanent retinal damage, so make sure your sunglasses are rated for full UV protection.

Sunglasses come in a variety of styles and types. If fashion is your main consideration, pick a stylish frame and then have custom lenses with UV protection added to them. If sun protection is your primary concern, pick up a pair of wraparound sunglasses that will block light that would normally skip past the frames of regular sunglasses.

After you’ve found a style that you like, think about the lenses. You’ve probably seen sunglasses with different colored lenses. While on cheap plastic sunglasses color may be little more than a fashion choice, with proper lenses, the color can tell you more about the purpose of the sunglasses. Knowing the different kinds of lenses will help you make the best decision when choosing sunglasses.

• Photochromic lenses change color depending on the amount of UV light to which they are exposed, although for the most part, they appear darkly shaded when outside, and light or clear when inside. Photochromic lenses create the illusion of sunglasses and regular glasses in one package.

• Amber-colored lenses tend to block blue light. There is discussion about whether blue light is harmful to the eye, but outdoors lovers agree blue-blocking lenses are super on the ski slopes or while hunting or fishing.

• Mirror-coated sunglasses limit the light that reaches your eye, which may make it easier to see in very bright situations.

• Gradient lenses, as the name implies, are those that are tinted at different opacities from the top down or from the bottom up. Top-down gradient lenses in sunglasses are great for driving and viewing the controls clearly.

• Polarized and anti-reflection-coated sunglasses reduce the amount of reflected light reaching your eyes, which is great in super-bright situations such as in the snow on a sunny winter day.

Nearly every style of sunglasses, lenses and frames, can be made to accommodate special prescriptions so that even those with poor vision can benefit from wearing sunglasses.

Taking A Look At Cisco’s CCVP Certification

November 3rd, 2009

I hardly have to tell you how important voice technologies are in today’s networks; what we all need to keep in mind to maximize our career potential is how important knowing voice is going to be tomorrow.

We’ve always got to look forward in IT, both in our work and out studies. Cisco, always the pioneer in technical certifications, now offers a Cisco Certified Voice Professional certification that is gaining a lot of attention from IT professionals looking to add to their skills and their resume.

Cisco’s CCVP track is a rigorous five-exam track that requires you to earn your CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification before getting started. The five exams cover a myriad of topics – they’re not giving this one away! Here are the exam numbers and codes you’ll need to know to register for the exams:

642-642 Quality Of Service (QOS)

642-432 Cisco Voice Over IP (CVOICE)

642-425 IP Telephony Troubleshooting (IPTT)

642-444 Cisco IP Telephony (CIPT)

642-452 Cisco Voice Gateways (GWGK)

Many newly-minted CCNAs wonder if they should pursue this or the Security Professional certification immediately after getting their CCNA. I recommend that a new CCNA pursue and achieve the CCNP before going after these more-specialized certifications. While it is not required by Cisco, the routing and switching knowledge your will acquire on your way to the CCNP will be invaluable to your career as well as being helpful with your CCVP pursuits.

Besides, these certifications won’t be going anywhere soon. Think of how valuable you will be with a CCNP, CCVP, and CCSP!

To your success,

Why Exchange Money for Foreign Currencies

August 8th, 2009

There are doubtless numerous smashing reasons why you will probably really desire to exchange a fixed amount of your money for foreign currencies. It might well conceivably be the case that the most up to date exchange rate is sound; your currency transfer might well conceivably be for that important acquisition, your transfer could conceivably be because you and your family are relocating yourselves to pastures new. No matter who you are chances are really good that at a stage in your life-time you will certainly very much want to play around in foreign currencies.

If your family are looking to acquire real estate in a foreign country there are doubtlessly of course numerous different bits and pieces you absolutely must take into consideration; even so, it’s indisputable that one of the current most foremost elements is the current currency exchange rate you may get for some of your money. Exchanging currency at the incorrect moment and scoring a lousy foreign exchange rate could mean that uncostly property you and your household located in Italy is suddenly costing you and your next of kin a fantastic about of money. This not just applies to apartments but any significant overseas purchases where you and your family will be exchanging currencies; this might well be a boat, bike, costly watch, diamond engagement ring, in fact practically everything you can think of. Take your time think about your money exchange and be sure to conduct some research.

Without a doubt, one of the current most high risk and potentially financially rewarding periods in history to exchange currencies is when you and your household are moving to another continent. This scenario can witness the savings account your family built up over years of effort either decline to a small fraction of its actual worth or conceivably blossom in to an even more major nest egg. This is where great timing is vitally important, if currency exchange rates are without a shadow of a doubt currently unfavourable you might often conceivably really want to think about postponing a percentage of your move abroad until they get better, or conceivably then again if the current currencies market is right you might really want to swap a percentage of your money even sooner than you had planned to take advantage of a brilliant exchange rate.

Each of these several eventualities highlight the importance of talking to a financial expert when it comes to foreign currency cash exchanges – an expert will provide your family with the proper guidance and make sure you get then very best possible return on your currencies.

We Had Seasons in the Sun; but Making Solar Power was Indeed the Most Fun

July 28th, 2009

Why are humans so intrigued by solar energy? Well, it seems kind of cool to get energy for free from the Sun and it is there every single day. Sometimes we complain when it is too hot but we’re always thankful when the sun is shining and comes up in the morning. For the Earth the Sun means life and if you add new solar energy panels to your home’s rooftop you may enjoy your own quality of life more due to decreased electricity bill costs.

We had joy, we had fun we had seasons in the Sun; but now it is a lot more than just joy and fun, because we’re talking free energy day in and day out. All this thanks to solar energy with all it’s latest technological breakthroughs and why not collect a little energy from the Sun? In past decades installing solar cells cost quite a bit of money and did not yield the amount of energy that would make it a solid investment due to the high upfront costs. But with energy costs increasing and the cost for solar panels decreasing it is now a very good return on investment.

Have you considered using solar energy in your home, small business or even recreational vehicle? Now is a good time to look around and see just what is available as the prices are the lot less than ever before. Consider this in 2006.

Picking The Correct Sofa

July 4th, 2009

Selecting the most suitable sofa for your house can well be a tricky undertaking. There are many different types of couches to choose from, a person can unquestionably get lost in material, shapes, & other important features. Sofa shopping can very easily be pleasant if you are well-prepared and know what you want. Leather sofas can be comparatively expensive – however they can be very durable.

First of all it is crucial to understand the limitations of the couches you are wanting. Not each and every couch will be able to fit into the particular room where you want to put it in. Therefore, make certain that you take careful dimensions of the room, doorways, & any other specific passages that the sofa will have to be put through. This can restrict your sofa choices hugely from the start. For bungalows that have a large living room but small doorways, a sectional sofa may be a much better choice to opt for. Furthermore, this option also gives you the ability to move your furniture into specific configurations whenever your atmosphere changes.

The next decision for sofa shoppers is the material of the couch. Its not critical to match the fabric with the colour or pattern because a great deal of cloth & leather couches these days can easily be custom made to meet your desires. It is suggested that you sit down on the sofas in order to try out the fabrics directly. This way it is straightforward to get a good grasp of how the material supports your body. It is also an excellent idea to read the material care instructions as well. This is because some fabrics are resistant to marks or can easily be cleaned with certain upholstery manufactured goods.

Once the material has been picked, it is time to look at the décor of the specific room where the couch will be located. This will help you decide the colour or style of the fabrics. Most couches can be customised to fit your requests, even so it is a worthwhile idea to examine all of the different swatches before making your purchasing decision.

The last decision you will need to settle on is whether or not you will require any extra features included with the sofa. This might well include the choice of sofa beds, massaging essentials, or reclining functions. These choices are not necessary when it comes to having a functional sofa in your apartment, even so these features do without doubt add to the complete comfort & gratification of the couch. Sofa beds are particularly worthwhile for people that like to put up overnight friends and family in their apartment.

The collection of sofas can be endless, but if you come prepared to buy, you will see that getting a couch that meets your wants is simple.

Experience Incredible Expectations with the Fullest Dating Life

June 28th, 2009

Usually, I eschew drama, ’cause without a date, I get pretty lonely. Here’s the scoup, this morning I devoured what seemed like a pound of bacon. During my birthday party that comes from being alone, obviously. You better believe it was great. Is that even legal? Actually, it’s when I seriously considered meeting new singles in Denver or Dallas.

No problem. I can mix up my social life thru professionally hosted Denver singles events. That isn’t a bad idea. Here’s a story. After practically choking down some of grandma’s potato salad at my boy’s t-ball game at Oak Park yesterday, Mom wouldn’t get off my back about if I’ve met my true love. They sure have nerve. I didn’t want to answer, but then laughed, “that’s none of your business.”

And of course The Old Tooter (aka: grandpa) mindlessly kept jabbing me about marriage. I quipped to the family gang: “Dating isn’t for me, but I’ll never find a gorgeous single woman hanging out with you.”

Do you have any idea what happened next? Each one of them scoffed. Shortly after, I rang Margaret to put my dating woes behind me. Why can’t I stop thinking about this! It was more useful listening to my dad, which is never the case. Billy, who was a fellow Ram in high school (go Rams!) advised that I join Great Expectations. I said, “Yeah, maybe I should.” I have some good friends. I can speak highly of Great Expectations Denver.

At the time, matchmaking was kinda foreign from my perspective. I’d never done anything like this before, and then I started getting butterflies in my stomach. This faux pas could not pull the plug on the evening. The night was a limo pub crawl from heaven. The greatest most memorable part of it all was the attractive, single women.

It wasn’t long before I was regularly mingling at these incredibley satisfying singles events at Great Expectations Dallas, I bumped into a handful of marvelous guys and gals who certainly have similar ideas when it comes to dating. I really shouldn’t allow my family get me down about me being single at my age. Surprisingly enough, dating right with Great Expectations is enjoyable and just what I’ve been looking for.

The motion picture Dirty Dancing starring Jennifer Grey & Patrick Swayze is a story entirely devoted to dancing & its songs created such an excitement that they still lead scores of people’s most watched movie songs of all time. A Romantic musical show, Dirty Dancing is the story of Baby & the love she shared with her dance tutor Johnny. The finish of this popular love story demonstrates the power of love to triumph all obstacles. In the view of the fact that the film is completely devoted to dance, the action sequences in the film are enormously sensual & the same has been included in the theatre production of the story.

In Australia the show has already achieved terrific success. Each show was again & again fully sold out for the complete fourteen month period. In London too, if current bookings are any indication, then the play should be a brilliant success and stampedes are expected at the doors of the theatre!

Mobile Broadband the Hottest Thing in the UK Today

June 25th, 2009

With Mobile Today revealing booming sales in mobile broadband market (20,000 per week), it looks like the mobile broadband business is going to thrive and flourish like never before in the coming years.

Digital communication in the UK has received a new boost with the release of the Digital Britain report, and it appears that mobile broadband will play a decisive role in moulding its future. The mobile broadband phenomenon has been making waves in the UK despite the present economic crisis, with sales more than doubling from October last year to January this year, say recent reports by market research company Gfk.

The use of mobile broadband is no longer restricted to only high-profile business travellers; it has become a necessity for the people from every sphere of life. Moreover, the iPhone has also raised people’s expectations, and hence the demand for wireless internet is on the rise. At the same time, there’s the dearth of fixed-line broadband connections in some regions of the UK, where mobile broadband can easily extend its reach.

With brand promotions, aggressive marketing campaigns, discounted prices and fabulous giveaways such as the laptop bundles (click here for laptop deals), it’s no wonder that the sales of mobile broadband are skyrocketing, and most observers believe the trend is all set to continue.
